One of the most exciting and experimental psychedelic albums of the late 1960s, The group’s sound was grounded in both psychedelia and the avant-garde. Unusually, the band had no guitar player; instead, they used strings, keyboards and electronics, including primitive synthesizers built specifically for the album, and various audio processors, including the ring modulator.
3. Spacemen 3 The Perfect Prescription – 1987
Planned as a concept album, Perfect Prescription works where so many other similar efforts failed due to the strength of the individual songs, as well as the smart focus of the concept in question — a vision of a psychedelic trip from inception to its blasted conclusion, highs and lows fully intact.
